This is the ultimate advanced diver program, consisting of a variety of dives. Are you ready to take your diving adventure to the next level? Take the plunge to 30m-40m, learn how to navigate underwater, as well as many other skills in our Advanced Open Water Diver Plus course!
Our Advanced Open Water Diver Course will help you to progress from an amateur diver to a seasoned diver in no time. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take this course, that’s where we come in! Our enthusiastic team of instructors will help you gain more experience, confidence and help you to advance your diving skills. You will improve your skills by completing dives in the following areas:
- Perfect Buoyancy / Dive Skill preassessment
- Drift Diver
- Nitrox Diver
- Deep Diving
The Advanced Open Water Diver program consists of 7 dives over 3 days and a short practical application session.
Day 1 is in the dive centre where we will complete the Nitrox component of the course along with the paperwork and some practical skills, day 2 we will meet at the dive site in Tweed Heads and complete the drift diving and perfect buoyancy specialities.
The following weekend, is your deep diver course these vary subject to conditions and other logistical arrangements.
At the end, you will have completed 7 dives and will have earned 4 speciality diver certifications, Navigation, Nitrox 40%, Perfect Buoyancy and Deep diver. Once you log a total of 24 dives in the mySSI app you will automatically receive the Advanced Open Water Diver Certification.

- COURSE DETAILS
Day 1 – Saturday, meet at the dive centre at 11 am where we will go through paperwork and the Nitrox practical application and prepare your tanks for the following day.
Day 2 – Sunday, your Instructor will provide you with details on the afternoon of Day 1 but you will meet at the dive site the following day and you will undertake 3 dives from shore.
Day 3 – Saturday, we will provide you with confirmed departure details on the Friday afternoon before the dives. You will complete 2 boat dives.
Day 4 – Sunday, your Instructor will provide you with departure details on the afternoon of Day 3. You will complete 2 boat dives.
We have a lot of flexibility with this course as we have a rolling schedule, meaning you can spread these dives out over a longer period of time if you'd prefer.
Prerequisites:
- Be at least 12 years of age
- Be certified as an Open Water Diver

- Lunch (bring plenty of snack type food, especially on day 1)
- Personal Snorkelling Equipment (Mask, Snorkel, Open-Heeled Fins & Boots) * Check out our available packages.
* Please note snorkelling equipment is not available for rental due to hygiene reasons.
