The Open Water Diver course is the first exciting step in learning to scuba dive. As a diver, you’ll experience weightlessness, get up close to the fascinating marine life that our world has to offer and create memories that will last a lifetime. Breathing underwater for the first time is an unforgettable experience, so don’t put it off any longer.

Our 2-day courses are run by our professional Instructional team with an emphasis on safety and professionalism.

This special course format has been specifically designed with you in mind, to make the most of the small gaps in your busy life. What’s even better is that our dive centre utilises a digital online learning platform, which allows you to complete the theory portion of the course in the comfort of your own home, in your own time, at your own pace.

Our 2 Day Open Water Diver courses run every Wednesday/Thursday & Saturday/Sunday.

Prior to the practical portion of your course, you will need to complete the eLearning module that you are sent, then on the first day you will need to arrive promptly at the dive centre located in Tingalpa at 6:45 am, we will then will go through a review of your eLearning results and administer a Final theory assessment.

We will then head to the pool where we will complete all of the required Confined Water Modules. 

Once all of the dives in the pool have been completed we will then head to the ocean dive site where we will complete the first of 4 ocean dives.

The next day we will meet at the dive centre approximately 4 hours before high tide and then head back down to the dive site where we will complete the remaining 3 ocean dives. Your Instructor will advise you of these times at the conclusion of your first day.

Prerequisites:

  • Be at least 12 years of age (10-11 year olds may also be able to participate, contact us for more information)
  • View our “Dive Medical Info” section and complete the questionnaire to determine whether you require a dive medical from a certified dive medical doctor before taking part in a course
  • Be able to swim 200 metres without stopping and tread water continuously for 10 minutes

When you sign up with us, you will receive a booking confirmation email containing more information and the finer details of your course. You will also receive your digital materials with in 24 hours of you completing the online learner portal registration. The theory takes 10+ hours to complete, so make sure to take these two factors into consideration when choosing course dates.

  • Dive independently with another certified dive buddy
  • Hire scuba equipment
  • Dive with social groups
  • Travel to exotic dive destinations
  • Complete your Advanced Open Water Diver course and other Specialty courses

  • Personal Snorkeling Equipment (Mask, Snorkel, Open-Heeled Fins & Boots) *  

To make the most of our 2 full days together, we require you to come into the dive centre the week prior to your course for an equipment fitting, if you can't make this we can make alternate arrangements. You do not need to make a booking, simply turn up anytime the shop is open (Monday -Friday 9 am to 5 pm and 9-3 on Saturday's). 

*Personal snorkelling equipment is not available to hire for hygiene reasons.
